A Day of Thanks… Not Division

You have to see past the chaos. This life is absolutely beautiful. It’s beautiful for each and every one of us. No matter how dark it may seem, there is light in all of our lives and that is what you have to see. I’m tired of hearing about the doom and gloom scenarios. Individually you must create your own happiness and spread peace so that collectively we will be okay. No one man can take that from you. Love more, share more and care more for each and every person around you. We as an entire society can create far more positive change than any piece of legislation or single politician. It all starts with you as an individual to create a positive change by keeping and spreading a positive mindset.

Today we will give thanks for all the good that we have in our lives. Don’t let your hamburger and hotdog table get divided by each person’s political agenda. Love each person for who they are and not for whose name they checked off on a ballot. Every day is about bringing together the people that you love and care about the most and it should be a reminder of how special these people are to you, but it should never be a day that divides us. Enough about politics. We see all over Facebook political wars. It’s over… on to today.

Growing up Christmas was always my favorite holiday. I thought that happiness was everything with my name on it that was stuffed underneath that Christmas tree. Now Christmas for me is about giving and the joy I get when I finally get the reaction I was waiting for when they unwrap or receive the gift that I got them. Whether it be love, passion or something tangible.

Today is not about giving and receiving. It’s a gathering of the people you love where you get to spend a special day together. The best thing you get to give and receive each other’s love in an exchange for the memory of those that fought for you to enjoy that very gift of the freedom to love each other, not divide. It is the presence of one another. No holiday quite compares.

Every year I am more and more thankful for this holiday for the simple fact that I’m alive to spend it with my family. I can’t imagine what it would be like for my family for this day to be a reminder of when I used to be there with them rather than a reminder of how lucky I am to still be there in their presence.

I AM home by the lake with my family and it couldn’t get any better than that. Life has been very good to me, almost too good. I have so much to be thankful for as each year of my life has been better than the year before. So tomorrow I will be thankful for the man above who has guided me along this path and for all the people in my life who have shaped me into the person that I am today where happiness has been a never ending lifestyle and the blessings are in abundance.

Happy Memorial Day to all of you!

LOVE ❤️ not divide
